        <description>In Switzerland, there are many traditional festivals, and one of the interesting autumn activities is called &amp;ldquo;désalpe.&amp;rdquo; Before winter arrives, the cows from the alpine pastures need to be moved down to the lowlands. During this process, the cows are beautifully adorned with fresh flowers on their heads, and they majestically descend from the mountain pastures to the plains.
We attended the “désalpe” in Saint-Cergue, located in the French-speaking region. From Nyon train station, we took a shuttle bus, which took about 20 to 25 minutes to reach the destination.</description>

        <description>The mechanisms of learning are a very popular research area in neuroscience, and one of the key theories involves dopamine. Previous studies have found that when a person receives an unexpected reward, dopamine neurons in the striatum respond; however, when the reward becomes entirely predictable, the response of these neurons disappears. This suggests that these cells use prediction error to reflect the learning process. In addition to the striatum, neurons in the prefrontal cortex are also involved in processing goal-directed behaviors and value information.</description>

        <description>Recently, a team at MIT published an intriguing study aiming to understand whether children born with visual impairments, who undergo surgery to restore their vision, have different visual abilities compared to typically developing children.
First, the researchers presented these children with both colored and black-and-white images, asking them to identify the objects in the pictures. They discovered that the children had a higher accuracy rate in recognizing colored images compared to black-and-white ones.</description>

However, when intense solar winds produce significant geomagnetic storms, lower latitude areas might also have the chance to witness the aurora. Starting from May 11, 2024, the Earth will be affected by a strong geomagnetic storm. In addition to potentially disrupting communications, this storm might also allow auroras to be seen in places where they are usually invisible.</description>

        <description>It&amp;rsquo;s almost winter, but we decided to make a last-minute trip to the Aubonne Arboretum to catch the tail end of autumn. Aubonne is a charming little village north of Allaman, just a 10-minute bus ride away.
From the bus stop, it&amp;rsquo;s about a 20-minute walk to reach the entrance of the Arboretum. The path winds through a scenic, open landscape, offering a comfortable stroll through the countryside.
The entire botanical garden covers a large area and is divided into many paths that are clearly marked with different colors.</description>

Taking advantage of a special offer from SBB, we decided to go on a journey to a renowned town of Luzern, in the central part of Switzerland. This beautiful city is surrounded by numerous mountains, with Pilatus being the most famous among them. Starting our adventure from Luzern station, we took a train to Alpnachstad first. From there, we transferred to a mountain railway that carried us all the way up to the summit of Pilatus.</description>

        <description>Before the end of the summer, we planned a clear journey to the north of Vaud, Les Gorges de l’Orbe. It is a 17km hiking route between Vallorbe and Orbe. Though it is not a steep route, 17km is still not an easy one. Thus, we decided to start from another village, Le Day, which shortened the whole distance by around 3, 4 km.</description>

After some research, we chose a relatively less-known destination for us - Leukerbad, a town in the Valais region known for its natural hot springs and a popular ski resort.         <description>North of Neuchâtel in Switzerland lies a popular attraction known as Creux du Van. This stunning natural amphitheater is approximately 1400 meters wide and 150 meters deep, shaped by glacial erosion. It&amp;rsquo;s also a fantastic spot for hiking.
We took a train to Noiraigue, which served as our starting point, and began our ascent from there. On the way up, we passed by an area that resembled a farm, with various animals like rabbits and donkeys.</description>
